Kelsey Lee
Louisville, Kentucky, produces more than great bourbon and great sports – it also generates great musicians, like the versatile percussionist, Kelsey Lee.
Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Kelsey started her career at age five as a member of the original Louisville Leopard Percussionists. She graduated from the Youth Performing Arts School and went on to earn a teaching degree from Indiana University. For twelve years, Kelsey was the assistant director for the Louisville Leopards, where she taught the Advanced, Beginners, Lite, Steel, and Middle School ensembles. She now conducts independent clinics, camps, and private percussion lessons.
When she’s not teaching, Kelsey performs with world-renowned musicians like CJ Vanston, Michael Fitzpatrick, Victor Mendoza, Hannah Ford Welton, Louie Bellson, Hanson, and Ndugu Chancler. She tours regularly with a few different bands (Southern Sirens, Brigid Kaelin Band, The Bourbon Britches, Croghan’s Crossing) and has shared the stage with many musicians, including Bruno Mars, Carlene Carter, and Gaelic Storm. Kelsey is endorsed professionally by Toca Percussion and ATempo Company and uses their vast array of instruments in her performances around the world.
Kendra Villiger
Kendra is a Louisville-based singer-songwriter/guitarist/bassist and front-person of indie/alt/prog-rock band Villa Mure and the new bassist for The Bourbon Britches. Kendra joins The Bourbon Britches for larger shows and festivals! She has graced the stages of Seven Sense Festival, Moonshadow Festival, Enchanted Mayhem Music Festival, 91.9 WFPK Waterfront Wednesday, Jeffersonville Riverstage Concert Series, Red Barn Radio, New Albany Amphitheater, IndieFest, Brouhaha Indie Music Festival, Fuzzy Pig Festival, Huntington Music & Arts Festival, Huntington Ritter Live Amphitheater Sunday Concert Series, and more. Our favorite Kendra interview quote, “Success in music is sitting around a crackling fire with some longtime friends singing our favorite goofy songs we made together, laughing and enjoying time. Success is learning the language, being able to play with others, connecting, listening, reacting to each other without speaking. Music is not the “music business.” Creating music is one of the very few things with no wrong answer. It can be anything you want it to be because it is art. It is language, it is connection, it’s an unspoken bond between musicians, it is amorphous, it is limitless. Music is freedom.”
