Community Cares Concert Series!

Mitchell Opera House fans, we have some exciting news! Although we will not be hosting any in-person events inside the Mitchell Opera House for the remainder of 2020, we are partnering up with the City of Mitchell to provide an outdoor concert series at the Mitchell City Park! We want to keep you safe and still provide opportunities for local entertainment.

Currently, we are working on a schedule of 4 concerts beginning at the end of August and running through the middle of October. These will include Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders, Kirby Stailey, Tayla Lynn, and Royale Lynn. Although each of these events will be free to attend, we will be taking donations at each event for a charity, with the first concert benefiting Becky’s Place!

Our first concert of the series will be Cody Ikerd & The Sidewinders on August 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the Mitchell City Park! Cody has played the drums for 12 years in a variety of different bands and in the past 6 years, also picked up the guitar. There is just something about the old country songs that Cody loves and is drawn too. He strives for the Merle Haggard, Hank Jr., Johnny Paycheck, Jamey Johnson, and Waylon Jennings types of music. The group has had the opportunity to open for the Kentucky Headhunters as well as Nahsville’s Mark Collie.

For this event series, we will be taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of all patrons! We will ask that you bring your own lawn chairs for the event and stay at least 10 feet away from others that are not in your group. If you leave your area for any reason, please wear a mask and practice social distancing. This will also be a smoke-free and alcohol-free event and a great opportunity for a night of family entertainment.

We hope to see you on August 29th at 6:00 p.m. at Mitchell City Park for Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders! Donations will be greatly appreciated to benefit Becky’s Place.
